Preliminary Task

Today in Media studies we finished our short films. Each of us had our own scenes which were all filmed at slightly different angles and at different places in the room, for example coming in through different doors and sitting in different seats.


The Scene contained two people walking into the room and having a normal conversation and then leaving the room. The main aim of this task was to not break the 180 degree rule and to show a successful shot-reverse shot.


The filming started well we got all our shots filmed quickly but the problems came later on in the editing stage. We used the Corel Video Studio software which was good and easy to use however, we had lost the memory from one of the cameras so we had to film it again. Again on the second time around we had lost some of our scenes however only a few. There was no more time to film again so to overcome this I I tried to match up as well as I could with another part of the film, this did not match up well enough so quickly we rushed a few scenes of filming in our lunch hour, although it wasnt perfect it did atleast flow.

I think my film went well, however we didn’t plan it properly and it will need a good amount of editing. Next time I will make sure I dont mix up the memory cards and charge up the cameras fully.
